Terms of Service
Effective date: 26 September 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Wander With Christo website and any travel advisory, planning, research, quotation or booking services provided by CJ Van Niekerk Consulting (Pty) Ltd t/a Wander With Christo, registration number 2025/968656/07 (“Wander With Christo”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By using this website, submitting a travel enquiry, requesting travel planning services or instructing us to make a booking on your behalf, you agree to these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any rights you may have under applicable law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) where applicable.
1. About Wander With Christo
Wander With Christo is an independent travel advisory business based in South Africa.
We provide travel research, planning, advisory and booking-related services and operate as an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora.
Depending on your trip, we may assist with accommodation, cruises, tours, activities, transfers, transportation and other travel-related arrangements.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Wander With Christo acts as an intermediary between you and third-party travel suppliers and does not itself own, operate or control hotels, cruise ships, airlines, tour operators or other travel services.
2. Our Role as Your Travel Advisor
Our role is to help you research, plan and arrange travel based on the information and preferences you provide.
Depending on the service requested, this may include:
-
Researching destinations and travel options;
-
Recommending hotels, resorts, cruises and experiences;
-
Preparing quotations or itineraries;
-
Making reservations on your behalf;
-
Communicating preferences or special requests to suppliers;
-
Assisting with changes or cancellations; and
-
Providing reasonable support relating to travel arrangements booked through us.
Recommendations are based on factors including your stated preferences, budget, availability, supplier information, our research, professional judgement and, where relevant, our own travel experience and the wider Fora advisor network.
Travel is subjective. A recommendation cannot guarantee that a particular destination, hotel, cruise, restaurant or experience will meet every traveller’s personal expectations.
3. Third-Party Travel Suppliers
Travel services booked through Wander With Christo are generally provided by independent third parties such as hotels, cruise lines, airlines, tour operators, transfer companies, activity providers and other suppliers.
Your booking may therefore be subject to the relevant supplier’s own terms and conditions, including its policies concerning:
-
Deposits and payment;
-
Cancellations and refunds;
-
Amendments;
-
No-shows;
-
Baggage;
-
Check-in;
-
Minimum ages;
-
Health requirements;
-
Conduct;
-
Itinerary changes; and
-
Other restrictions or conditions.
Where relevant, you should review these terms before confirming your booking.
By instructing us to make a booking, you authorise us to act on your behalf in arranging the relevant services with the supplier.
4. Quotes, Pricing and Availability
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all quotations are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until the relevant booking has been confirmed.
Travel prices can change quickly due to availability, exchange rates, dynamic pricing, taxes, fuel surcharges, supplier promotions and other factors outside our control.
A quotation does not constitute a confirmed reservation.
Prices may be quoted in South African Rand or another currency depending on the supplier. Where currency conversion is involved, the final amount charged by your bank or payment provider may differ because of exchange rates or transaction fees.
We will take reasonable care to communicate pricing accurately. If a supplier changes a price or identifies an error before confirmation, we will notify you before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.
5. Confirming a Booking
A booking is only confirmed once the relevant supplier has accepted the reservation and any required payment or deposit has been successfully processed.
You are responsible for reviewing booking confirmations as soon as you receive them.
Please check names, dates, destinations, room or cabin categories, traveller numbers and other details carefully and notify us promptly if anything appears incorrect.
Names supplied for bookings should match the traveller’s passport or other required travel document exactly.
Charges arising from incorrect information supplied by you may be for your account, subject to applicable law.
6. Payments
Depending on the booking, payment may be made directly to the travel supplier, through an authorised booking platform or through another approved payment process.
We will advise you of applicable deposit amounts, balances and payment deadlines communicated by the relevant supplier.
You are responsible for ensuring that payments are made by the required deadline. Failure to make payment on time may result in a reservation being cancelled or repriced by the supplier.
We will never intentionally request that you provide payment-card information through an insecure channel.
7. Advisor and Planning Fees
Certain bookings may generate commission payable by the travel supplier or travel agency.
Some travel requests may also require a separate planning, research, consultation or service fee, particularly where significant itinerary development, research or bespoke planning is required.
Where we charge such a fee, the amount and applicable conditions will be disclosed to you before you agree to the relevant paid service.
Any such fee is separate from amounts payable to travel suppliers unless expressly stated otherwise.
8. Cancellations, Changes and Refunds
If you need to change or cancel a booking, please contact us as soon as possible.
Cancellation and amendment conditions vary significantly between suppliers, fares and rates. Some reservations may be flexible, while others may carry cancellation charges or become non-refundable after specified dates.
Where applicable, cancellation charges must also comply with South African consumer law. Section 17 of the CPA recognises a consumer’s right to cancel an advance reservation while permitting a supplier to impose a reasonable cancellation charge, taking factors such as the nature of the service and notice given into account.
Any refund due from a third-party supplier is subject to the applicable supplier’s process and the law governing the transaction.
We will provide reasonable assistance in pursuing refunds relating to bookings made through us, but we cannot guarantee the timing of a supplier’s refund.
Any separate Wander With Christo planning or service fee will be subject to the conditions disclosed when that fee is agreed, together with any rights you may have under applicable law.
9. Passports, Visas and Entry Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring that you and everyone travelling with you hold all documents required for the trip, including where applicable:
-
Valid passports;
-
Visas;
-
Transit visas;
-
Residence permits;
-
Vaccination or health documentation;
-
Parental consent documents;
-
Travel authorisations; and
-
Any other immigration or entry documentation.
We may provide general information or direct you to relevant resources, but immigration and entry requirements can change without notice.
Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, any visa or entry information we provide should be treated as guidance rather than legal or immigration advice.
You should verify current requirements with the relevant government, embassy, consulate or other competent authority before travelling.
10. Health, Accessibility and Special Requirements
You are responsible for determining whether you are medically and physically able to undertake your chosen trip and activities.
Please tell us as early as possible about any accessibility requirements, dietary needs or other requirements that may affect your travel arrangements.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate relevant requests to suppliers, but special requests cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed by the relevant supplier.
Medical or health-related information provided by us is general travel information only and does not constitute medical advice.
11. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that travellers obtain appropriate travel insurance suitable for their circumstances and destination.
Depending on the policy, travel insurance may provide cover for events such as trip cancellation, interruption, medical emergencies, evacuation, baggage loss or delay.
Insurance products vary considerably. It is your responsibility to review the relevant policy wording, exclusions, limits and conditions and determine whether the cover is appropriate for you.
12. Changes Beyond Our Control
Travel arrangements may be affected by circumstances outside the reasonable control of Wander With Christo, including severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, civil unrest, government action, border restrictions, public-health events, supplier insolvency, mechanical issues, port closures, itinerary changes, flight disruption or other extraordinary circumstances.
Hotels, cruise lines, airlines and other suppliers may also alter schedules, itineraries, accommodation, vessels or services where permitted by their terms and applicable law.
Where your booking is affected, we will provide reasonable assistance with arrangements booked through us, but your rights to alternatives, credits or refunds will generally depend on the relevant supplier’s terms and applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Cruise Bookings
Cruise itineraries are particularly susceptible to changes resulting from weather, sea conditions, port restrictions, operational requirements and safety considerations.
A cruise line may substitute, change or omit ports of call where permitted by its booking conditions and applicable law.
Cruise fares may also have specific conditions concerning deposits, final-payment deadlines, cabin categories, gratuities, onboard charges, excursions and cancellation penalties.
You should review the applicable cruise line’s terms before confirming your sailing.
14. Flights and Transportation
Where we assist with air or other transportation arrangements, schedules, aircraft, routes and operating carriers may change.
You are responsible for arriving at the relevant airport, station, port or departure point within the time required by the transport provider.
Where separate travel arrangements are booked independently—for example, a flight purchased separately from a cruise—you are responsible for allowing sufficient connection time between those arrangements.
15. Loyalty Programmes and Preferred Partner Benefits
Where available, we may be able to access preferred rates, upgrades, credits, breakfast or other benefits through Fora or its travel-partner relationships.
Benefits vary by property, programme, rate and booking and may be subject to availability or change.
Unless expressly confirmed as guaranteed, benefits such as room upgrades, early check-in and late check-out should not be considered guaranteed.
Eligibility for hotel, airline, cruise or other loyalty points is determined by the relevant loyalty programme and supplier.
16. Accuracy of Website Content
We take reasonable care to ensure that information published on our website is useful and accurate.
However, travel information changes frequently. Prices, schedules, opening hours, entry requirements, hotel facilities, cruise itineraries, partner relationships and other information may change after publication.
Website content is therefore provided for general information and inspiration and should not be regarded as a guaranteed representation of current availability or conditions.
Please contact us to confirm information relevant to a specific booking.
17. Deals and Promotional Offers
Deals, promotions and special offers displayed on the website are subject to availability and may be withdrawn, amended or sold out without notice.
Additional supplier conditions, blackout dates, minimum stays, eligible travel periods or other restrictions may apply.
Displaying an offer on the website does not guarantee that it remains available at the time of enquiry.
18. Your Responsibilities
When using our services, you agree to:
-
Provide complete and accurate traveller information;
-
Review quotations and confirmations carefully;
-
Make payments by applicable deadlines;
-
Inform us promptly of errors or changes;
-
Obtain required travel documents;
-
Comply with supplier rules and destination laws;
-
Behave appropriately while travelling; and
-
Make reasonable decisions concerning your own health, safety and circumstances.
You are also responsible for ensuring that other travellers for whom you make arrangements are aware of relevant booking terms and requirements.
19. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Wander With Christo name, branding, original website copy, graphics, travel guides and other original content created by us are owned by or licensed to CJ Van Niekerk Consulting (Pty) Ltd.
You may view and use website content for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not reproduce, republish, sell, modify or commercially exploit our original content without prior written permission.
Third-party names, logos, photographs and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
20. Links to Third-Party Websites
Our website may link to websites operated by Fora, hotels, cruise lines, tourism organisations, booking platforms and other third parties.
These links are provided for convenience or information. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or independent terms.
Your use of those websites is subject to their respective terms.
21. Privacy
Our collection and processing of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law, including POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act).
Travel bookings may require personal information to be provided to Fora, hotels, cruise lines, airlines and other suppliers, including suppliers located outside South Africa.
Please review our Privacy Policy for further information.
South Africa’s Information Regulator is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with POPIA.
22. Liability
We will exercise reasonable care in providing our travel advisory and booking services.
However, where travel services are supplied by independent third parties, Wander With Christo does not control the day-to-day operation or performance of those services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be responsible for loss arising solely from the acts, omissions or failures of an independent supplier or from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law, nor does it waive any consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
The Consumer Protection Act (CPA) expressly protects consumers against unfair, unreasonable or unjust contract terms, which is why this clause should remain qualified rather than attempting a blanket exclusion of liability.
23. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to investigate and respond.
If your complaint relates to a hotel, cruise line, tour operator or another supplier, we may assist you in communicating with that supplier where the booking was arranged through us.
Where applicable, you retain any rights or remedies available under South African consumer law.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules or other laws that apply to a particular transaction.
Any dispute will be dealt with in accordance with applicable South African law and through courts or dispute-resolution bodies having lawful jurisdiction.
25. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, suppliers, website or applicable law.
The current version will be published on our website with its effective date.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights or materially alter confirmed bookings where doing so would be contrary to applicable law.
